Interim Executive Board (IEB)
The Interim Executive Board is a temporary board of governors to support the school in it's drive to improve and provide the very best for the young people it serves.
The IEB took up its duties on 15 April 2024.

Anne AllisonEducation Consultant and experienced Primary Headteacher (Chair)
Anne Allison
Anne was a successful headteacher and executive headteacher for twenty years in
several primary schools in East Sussex before becoming an education consultant.
She currently provides external adviser support for a number of schools on behalf of
East Sussex County Council. She also provides a range of other support for schools
in the authority: serving on a number of IEBs, including in the role as chair,
supporting progress groups and advising governing boards in the recruitment of new
headteachers.
Anne has been involved in school governance for many years, as a headteacher,
local authority governor and an additional associate member on behalf of the local
authority.
Anne is committed to supporting the development of the leadership skills of all
members of the school community in order to ensure that pupils thrive and achieve
the best possible outcomes.

Jessica StubbingsEast Sussex County Council Officer
Jessica Stubbings
Jessica has been a senior manager within the school improvement service at East
Sussex County Council for the last 15 years, over this time her role has included: the
implementation of the Raising of the Participation Age, leading and managing
Governor Services and lead responsibility for school organisation.
Jessica was a member of the Hastings Opportunity Area Board between 2017 - 2021, aDepartment for Education funded programme to deliver improvements in educational
outcomes and is currently a member of the Priority Education Investment Area Board
in Hastings.

Shaun JarvisFormer HMI and school leader with extensive leadership experience in specialist settings
Shaun Jarvis
Shaun’s career in education spans twenty years. He has devoted much of this time
to working with children and young people facing significant disadvantage and
vulnerabilities. He has particular expertise in safeguarding, inclusion, SEND and AP.
Shaun holds the National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership. He has
held several leadership roles in mainstream and specialist settings, and has worked
with governors and trustees, providing challenge and support and helping to
strengthen governance.
He is a trustee of a multi-academy trust and has previously
been a governor and the chair of a learning and standards committee. Following a
successful career as a teacher and school leader, Shaun was privileged to become
one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors at Ofsted. He led high-quality, often complex,
inspections of primary and secondary mainstream schools, special and independent
non-maintained special schools, as well as alternative provision settings. Shaun’s
exceptional contribution was praised by the then HMCI. He is now director and
principal consultant of a successful education consultancy, supporting schools and
local authorities. He continues to lead inspections on behalf of Ofsted.

Linda PannellMember of the previous governing board
Linda Pannell
Linda is an experienced and successful educational leader. She has worked in the primary sector as a teacher and then head teacher in two different schools.
She also acted as a consultant in nursery education in Harlow, Essex. After retiring she
became Chair of Governors of a large primary school in Essex for 8 years.
She was appointed to her second headship role under the Government’s Fresh Start
programme to take over and re-establish a failing school in a deprived area. This
involved working with a newly appointed governing body, and the recruitment of a
completely new staff team. Her passion for excellence in all curriculum areas is
combined with a deep conviction that staff should be well led by example. They must
be motivated, supported and trained in order to deliver the best education for the
children in their care. This approach ensured a successful outcome in just over two
years. She has subsequently carried the same convictions into her governor roles.

Janet BowenEast Sussex County Council HR Officer (Associate Member)
Janet Bowen
Janet has worked with governing bodies, school leaders and senior Children’s Services representatives to support personnel management across the schools’ workforce in East Sussex since 1995.
Janet is member of the Human Resources and Organisational Development Advisory management team for East Sussex County Council and has extensive experience in employee relations, managing change, TUPE, recruitment and managing complex HR issues. Janet is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD).

Rose BlaauwEast Sussex County Council Finance Officer (Associate Member)
Rose Blaauw
Rose is a Principal Finance Officer with experience of working within local authority-
maintained schools as a business manager since 2011. Rose now works within the
Schools Finance contact team supporting schools and governors with their finance
systems and finance information. Rose has extensive experience in preparation and
monitoring of school budgets.

Theresa PhillipsEducation Consultant and experienced Secondary Headteacher
Theresa Phillips
Until recently, Theresa was an External Adviser for a group of secondary schools in East Sussex, providing support and challenge to promote school improvement. During this period, she was a member of the IEB for a special school.
Previously, she worked for Ofsted for six years as HMI leading inspections of primary, secondary and all-through schools. Prior to that, Theresa was a secondary school headteacher in Hastings. -
Mark BryantDirector of Surrey for LSEAT and Executive Headteacher of two federated community special schools (Associate Member)
Mark Bryant
Mark is currently on a two day per week secondment as the London South East
Academies Trust (LSEAT) Director of Surrey, leading on the development of a
Surrey ‘hub’ of specialist schools. His substantive role is as the Executive
Headteacher of a hard federation of two specialist schools across three sites in the
North West of Surrey. Until last year Mark was also the chair of the Surrey Specialist
School Phase Council a representative group of 26 maintained Specialist Schools.
